CHUNKS OF ICE – THE MOVIE
On October 3rd, 2018, the C3 project team reached a high-altitude ice cave deposit in the Eastern Alps of Italy (in the Canin-Kanin massif) to collect several ice samples.
The ongoing climate change affecting glaciers all over the world is now rapidly melting such ice masses as well. Ice cave deposits represent peculiar case studies because they store several paleoclimatic information waiting to be deciphered.
For this reason we are trying to save as much information as we can before all will be definitely lost.
